Street shelters from PIN-UP Foundation installed in Kherson and Kharkiv region

The PIN-UP Foundation has supported the SafePlace4UA initiative to install mobile street shelters that contribute to the safety of Ukrainians.

With the financial support of the PIN-UP Foundation, two shelters were manufactured: SafePlace No. 0012 was installed in the heroic city of Kherson at a public transport stop, and SafePlace No. 0013 was established in the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv region.

In case of danger, the shelters can protect against shock waves, fragments, and deadly elements of cluster munitions. They have thick walls of more than 25 cm and a 40 cm ceiling made of reinforced concrete and can accommodate 15 people. Inside, there are benches, lighting, and ventilation. Outside, the structures contain a sign of the gathering point, the direction and address of the nearest shelter, and QR codes with a video about SafePlace.

Marina Ilina, President of the PIN-UP Foundation, stressed the importance of such initiatives: “Our goal is to help and contribute to the safety and well-being of Ukrainians. These shelters are just the beginning of our efforts to create a safe environment for the residents of Kherson, Tsyrkuny and other regions of Ukraine.

SafePlaceUA is a Yunist 2.0 Charitable Foundation initiative to create a network of mobile street shelters. Preference is given to public recreation areas, playgrounds, parks, squares, public transport stops, etc.
