Engineering Manager
Technical Skills
– 10+ years of experience in back-end development, with exposure to modern programming languages (e.g., Golang, Python, .NET or Node.js);
– Strong understanding of front-end development, particularly with Angular, ensuring seamless integration between client and server components;
– Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and scalable system design;
– Proficiency with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis);
– Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools like Kubernetes;
– Practical knowledge of system observability tools for monitoring, logging, and performance optimization;
– Experience integrating 3rd-party APIs and building APIs for external consumers;
– Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including unit testing, design documentation, and secure coding practices.
Leadership and Management Skills
– Proven track record in managing and growing engineering teams, including mentoring and providing performance feedback;
– Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders;
– Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on contributions to ensure project success;
– Expertise in facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and aligning teams with company goals.
- Knowledge of fintech industry standards, including compliance, payments, and security practices;
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka (or RabbitMQ);
- Experience with GitOps for automating deployments and infrastructure management;
- Background in high-load systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
Technical Leadership
– Guide the team in implementing architectural decisions made by the architects, ensuring the fintech products' success while prioritizing scalability, security, and maintainability for long-term effectiveness;
– Drive the adoption of modern engineering tools, processes, and methodologies to improve productivity;
– Act as the main point of contact for resolving complex technical challenges;
– Lead technical reviews and oversee the integration of 3rd-party services and APIs.
Team Leadership and Development
– Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration and professional growth;
– Establish team goals, track progress, and ensure alignment with product and business objectives;
– Facilitate a culture of technical excellence, encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing;
– Conduct performance reviews and 1:1s to support career development for team members.
Product Delivery
– Oversee the entire SDLC, from requirements gathering and system design to delivery and maintenance;
– Ensure engineering solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements, including scalability and reliability;
– Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Team Leads to deliver high-quality products on schedule;
– Proactively address roadblocks, ensuring the team achieves milestones.
